Kristen on Top Chef

Kish participated in Bravo’s Top Chef’s ninth season in 2012. Despite her initial reluctance to appear on television, she finally consented at Barbara Lynch’s encouragement. She received an invitation to compete in the qualifying rounds and was given the responsibility of making a special soup for judge Emeril Lagasse. Kish advanced to the actual competition after completing the challenge. Kish lost the “Restaurant Wars” task (Episode 11) after winning four other elimination challenges.

After winning Last Chance Kitchen five times in a row, she managed to go back into the main competition and join Brooke Williamson in the final. Kish became the second female champion of the series after defeating Williamson and winning the title of Top Chef. Following Padma Lakshmi’s decision to leave the Top Chef franchise, Kish was chosen to host the show in 2023. Since then, she has been nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards, one for Outstanding Host for a Reality Program and the other for Reality Competition Program.
