In 2016, she joined Fox & Friends as a co-host, interviewing Vice President Mike Pence and President Donald Trump.

In a 2018 interview, Earhardt commended Trump for using purported audio recordings to threaten former FBI Director James Comey, saying it was a clever tactic to ensure he remained truthful during congressional hearings. She also said that Trump has the right to choose who works for him, which is why he fired FBI Director James Comey.

The assertion that “5.7 million… illegal immigrants might have voted” in the 2008 election was another untrue statement made by Earhardt. She falsely claimed on Fox & Friends in August 2018 that the United States’ victory over “communist Japan” had made “America great.”

In May 2019, Earhardt applauded Trump and chastised the liberal media after The New York Times revealed Trump’s “deep financial distress” from 1985 to 1994. She accused the Times of “bashing” Trump’s father, Fred Trump Sr., in October 2018.

Throughout Trump’s presidency, Earhardt has promoted “deep state” conspiracy theories and demonstrated a great deal of mistrust of the intelligence community. She urged viewers to take flights during the COVID-19 pandemic, stating that it was the safest time to do so. Democratic politicians and the media, she claimed, were politicizing the outbreak.

Prior to graduating from the University of South Carolina, Earhardt was employed as a reporter for Columbia, South Carolina’s WLTX, the local CBS station. She served as the morning and lunchtime anchor from 2000 to 2004. After the September 11 attacks, she went to New York City to report on middle school children in South Carolina who were collecting over half a million dollars to help firemen replace the fire engine that was lost at the World Trade Center site.

After relocating to San Antonio, Texas, in 2005, Earhardt began anchoring weekday morning and noon newscasts at KENS. She skydived with the U.S. Army’s Golden Knights, flew in an F-16 with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds at the Air Force Academy, and finished the Austin, Texas half-marathon while she was a resident in Texas. In addition to her memoir, The Light Within Me, Earhardt is the author of three children’s books: Take Heart, My Child, Through Your Eyes, and I’m So Glad You Were Born.
