Burton is a vastly recognized journalist who is currently working for ABC 7 News in Chicago, Illinois. Here, she serves as a co-anchor for the station’s 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. newscasts along with Alan Krashesky. She began her broadcasting career in 1989 reporting for WGN-TV in Chicago.

Additionally, she co-anchored the nationally syndicated weekly series MBR: The Minority Business Report. She then moved to Peoria, Illinois, after receiving an opportunity to work as a reporter for WMBD-TV. Similarly, she spent two years working as a news reporter for KWCH-DT in Wichita, Kansas.
