Chris Norman is an English award-winning soft rock singer and songwriter best known for his duet smash song “Stumblin’ In” from 1978. Likewise, he was the founding member of the English rock band Smokie, which achieved international fame in the 1970s.

Norman and Silson met as youths, influenced by new wave bands like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. They convinced Uttley to join them, and later formed their first band with a drummer friend named Ron Kelly. Most notably, they were known as The Yen, Essence, before settling on “The Elizabethans.”
Additionally, Rori Kelley departed the band in 1975, and was replaced by Pete Spencer who took over on the drums. From 1974 to 1975, they toured the world after signing with a record label. Some of their songs included Kevin Keegan’s Head Over Heels I Live and The England Football Team Anthem.
Furthermore, his solo career began in 1986, with the publication of his debut single, Midnight Lady. Afterwards, he released another single from Some Hearts Are Diamond, No Arms Can Ever Hold You, and Broken Heroes. He was later named CMT Europe’s International Video Star of the Year.
