Bromstad is a renowned TV personality and the host of the HGTV show Colour Splash with David Bromstad. After being laid off as a Disney illustrator, he created Bromstad Studio. He reportedly moved to Miami Beach and auditioned for HGTV’s Design Star, a reality show competition to find a host for a new show on the cable network.
Additionally, he competed on Design Star against nine other aspiring designers, winning the grand prize of a car and the opportunity to host his own HGTV show. He hosted Colour Splash on HGTV from 2007 and 2012. Notably, he featured as a guest judge on the opening episode of HGTV Design Star’s second season.
Moreover, he appeared on HGTV’s Design at Your Door and was a Rock the Block competitor in the second season, partnering with designer Tiffany Brooks. Similarly, he has been on HGTV’d, HGTV Showdown, and Bang for Your Buck. He began hosting My Lottery Dream Home in 2015.
