Ring is known as the son of Baptist pastor Oscar Newton Ring. Later in 1964, Ring’s father died. His mother succumbed to Cancer four years later, leaving him an orphan at the age of fourteen. Later, he attempted to commit suicide, but with the intervention of his sister, David became able to come around and give his life to Christ.
Education
Later after his sister’s intervention, he rejoined Liberty High School in Liberty, Missouri, where he attended and graduated in 1971. In addition, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from William Jewell College in Liberty in 1976, where he became a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
