Haase is a renowned singer who began his career with the gospel band Noblemen. Likewise, he also performed with several bands including Dixie Melody Boys and Earthlight. In 1990, he joined the Cathedrals where he recorded a a dozen of albums, but the group later split up 1999.

Additionally, he released his first solo songs Never Alone and What a Difference a Day Makes in 2000. He later joined the Old Fiends Quartet band in 2001 where worked with Jake Hess, Wesley Pritchard, and George Younce. After the group split, he founded the Signature Sound Quartet, Inc.

Moreover, the group’s record company, Gaither Music, renamed them “Ernie Haase and Signature Sound”. More so, the group won a Grammy nomination for “Best Roots Gospel Album” with Something Beautiful. In 2006, they released the holiday CD Christmas with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound.

Furthermore, in 2008, they released Dream On, which included the same four vocalists as their namesake album. It is known that they won a Grammy nomination in 2010 for Best Southern/Country/Bluegrass Gospel Album. The album was also ranked number five on the Christian album list.
