Zakarian is a vastly recognized chef who stared off as an apprentice cook at Le Cirque under chef Daniel Boulud. In 1990, he became the executive chef at 44, a restaurant described by The New York Times as “trendy” and “chic”. Similarly, in 1996, he was employed by David Brody of Z100 WHTZ to manage Old Navy’s disastrous coffee bar and coffee cart business.

Additionally, he worked at the Blue Door of the Delano Hotel in South Beach, Miami. With origins in French cooking, his style is characterised as “modern,” or as he puts it, “dynamic American.” In addition, he published his first book Geoffrey Zakarian’s Town / Country, in 2006, which includes one hundred and fifty recipes for “Life Around the Table,” friends, and family.

Moreover, he appeared severally as a judge on the Food Network’s Chopped series alongside, Scott Conant, Chris Santos, and Amanda Freitag. Likewise, he has judged on Top Chef and made appearances on Hell’s Kitchen. In May 2010, he participated in Iron Chef America as a challenger and lost to chef Masaharu Morimoto, scoring 57 to 43.
