His second MCA album, “Friday Night Blues”, yielded two No. 2 hits: the title track and “She Can’t Say That Anymore”. The 1981 album “With Love” brought more success with “Miss Emily’s Picture”.
In 1982, his album “Busted” opened with a cover of Harlan Howard’s song, while “Common Man” took him to the top of the charts in 1983. The 1983 album “In My Eyes” spawned three more No. 1 hits. MCA released a “Greatest Hits” album in 1983.
