Karen Clark Sheard is an American gospel singer and songwriter. She is part of the Clark Sisters gospel group as the youngest member. Likewise, she is known for being the mother of gospel singer and actress Kierra Sheard.

Karen has been married to her lovely husband, John Drew Sheard Sr., since 1984. He is a pastor and minister who currently serves as the Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ. It is known that his church is a 6 million-member predominantly African-American Holiness Pentecostal denomination. Likewise, he serves as the pastor of the Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God.

Sheard and her husband John Drew Sheard Sr. have been blessed with two children; a son and a daughter. They are; Kierra Sheard who is a gospel singer as well as an evangelist and J. Drew Sheard II who is a label head, producer, and songwriter. The couple are also honored with three grandchildren; Jacob Dillon Sheard, Kali Drew Sheard, and Khloé-Drew Valencia Kelly.
Music Career
Karen is a vastly recognized gospel singer and songwriter known for her Finally Karen studio album debut. Afterward, she released her second album titled 2nd Chance after the doctors gave her a 2% chance of survival due a blood vessel burst in 2001.
Most noteworthy, she released All in One studio album in 2010 which debuted at number two on the Billboard Gospel Chart. Likewise, its single “Prayed Up” peaked at number nine on the Gospel Songs chart while it also entered the Billboard 200.
Before this, she had recorded both The Heavens Are Telling and It’s Not Over live albums in 2003 and 2006 consequently. Furthermore, she collaborated with Donnie McClurkin in the Wait on the Lord song for which she won the Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance.
Some of her popular songs include Couldn’t Tell It If I Tried, He Knows, and My Words Have Power. On the other hand, she has made several appearances on TV shows such as Gospel Superfest Holiday 20 part 1 & 2 and Stellar Music of Hope.
