Gilman, a Roman Catholic priest.As marching band members at Dumont High School, Ms. Cappiello and Mr. Edson first crossed paths in 1995. He was a freshman and she was beginning her senior year.
Following Ms. Cappiello’s graduation, they lost contact. In May 2006, ten years later, Ms. Cappiello was pleasantly delighted to receive an email from Mr. Edson. They decided to get together that weekend after exchanging a few cordial messages and learning that they would both be celebrating Mother’s Day in their hometown.
After a brief lunch, the trip lasted eight hours and concluded with a miniature golf match in a nearby town. He gave Ms. Cappiello a call a few days later to invite her out for a date the following weekend. All thoughts of high school vanished on the day they experienced their first kiss.
