In 2018, a domestic violence restraining order was imposed, prohibiting Deven from having child custody or visitation, which Jonathan claimed was due to his drug use. In addition, Deven Davis died on August 17, 2018, at the age of 39, of mixed drug intoxication from heroin and numerous prescription medicines.

Davis is a vastly recognized singer and songwriter best known the leader of the nu metal band Korn. He co-founded Korn in Bakersfield in 1993, following the demise of two bands, Sexart and L.A.P.D. It is known that he had led Sexart throughout his tenure as assistant coroner.
Additionally, he became popular for his passionate and dramatic live performances with Korn. His impassioned lyrics and distinctive tenor vocals have propelled him to a lucrative career that has lasted almost three decades. Similarly, his vocals, which shift from an angry tone and a high-pitched voice, sounding ambient to forcefully yelling, have been Korn’s signature throughout their existence.
