Hegseth is a vastly recognized journalist currently working as a news reporter and anchor for Fox News Channel. He started his career as a market analyst for the investment banking firm Bear Stearns. Shortly after, he was commissioned as a reserve infantry officer into the U.S. Army National Guard.

Additionally, he led an infantry platoon for the Minnesota National Guard when his unit was dispatched to Guantánamo Bay in 2004. He happily offered to serve in Baghdad in the same capacity, but later served as a civil military operations officer in Samarra. During this time, he received two infantry badges and six war medals in his tenure as a military officer.

In 2007, he departed the conservative research organisation to take an executive director position at Vets For Freedom.. He was their executive director until the company’s 2010 dissolution. Moreover, he re-joined the army, serving as a senior counterinsurgency teacher at the Counterinsurgency Training Centre in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Furthermore, he began contributing to Fox News Channel in 2014. Here, he made appearances on a number of programmes, including Fox and Friends, The Ingraham Angle, and The Five. He is currently hosting Fox and Friends Weekend alongside Rachel Campos-Duffy and Will Cain, and he is well-known for it.

The Axe-Throwing Incident

Pete hit drummer SFC Jeff Prosperie of the West Point Band with a double-bit lumberjack axe on June 14, 2015, during a live broadcast.
