Jon Stewart is an American stand up comedian, producer, writer, political commentator, actor, director, and television host. Likewise, he hosted The Daily Show, a satirical news program on Comedy Central, since 1999 to 2015 and currently hosts The Problem with Jon Stewart on Apple TV+.

Stewart was a regular at the Comedy Cellar, where he became the last performer every night. For a period of two years he performed at 2 a.m. while developing his comedy style. Later, he landed his first television job as a writer for Caroline’s Comedy Hour in 1989. In addition, he started co-hosting Comedy Central’s Short Attention Span Theater with Patty Rosborough in 1990. Likewise in 1992, Jon hosted the short-lived You Wrote It, You Watch It on MTV, which as well invited viewers to send in their stories to be acted out by the comedy troupe, The State.
Moreover, Stewart said that his career did not take off until his March 6, 1992, and appearance on NBC’s Late Night together with David Letterman. Furthermore, he was considered to take over the show when Letterman left it, but it was later given to relatively unknown Conan O’Brien. Besides, he co-hosted MTV Spring Break ’93 Blind Date from Daytona Beach along with Melissa Rivers.
Through a taping of the show on February 10, 2015, he announced he became leaving The Daily Show. Likewise, Comedy Central president Michele Ganeless confirmed his retirement together with a statement. Later, it became announced that South African comedian Trevor Noah would succeed him as the host of the show. Afterwards on April 20, 2015, Stewart indicated that his final show would be on August 6, 2015.
